Aaliyah was a singer that had hits like Try Again, One in a Million and Rock the Boat, just to name a few. The singer died at a young age in a plane crash. There have been many tributes created to honor her, and this MAC x Aaliyah line is just one of them.
I was afraid of this not working, as I wasn’t sure who exactly worked on this project. The biopic was a huge let down for me. I decided to ignore the bad reviews on the line, and actually try one of the products myself. I’m glad I did. I love a lipgloss or a lipglass that has that sticky kind of feel, like actual lipgloss should. I don’t usually wear color on my lips, even if there is a tint. So, for me to wear this metallic looking color was big.
The gloss smelled amazing, the bottle even looked good and applied just fine. It also contains jojoba oil for softening and conditioning which is really good. It honestly looks good on anyone.
The design was simple Aaliyah’s signature on a mahogany/purplish looking color on the handle. While the bottle was clear except the Mac name and Aaliyah’s name. I’m getting ready to purchase more from this line, and another lipglass in this color. The color is called Brooklyn Born, which is where Aaliyah is from.
This product can be purchased at M.A.C or any store that carries M.A.C. I got mine at Nordstrom for $24.12.
