It Smells Worse Than It Is

Nylabone Dura Chew Arch Bone Rock & Chew Bacon Flavor Dog Chew Toy Review

I know what you’re thinking, that’s a really long name for such a tiny bone. But, trust me this little thing will shock you with it’s durability.

I’m not sure about your puppies but both of ours like a chew before they fall asleep. Especially, Elvis. And without a doubt this “bacon bone” is Elvis’ favorite.

This is one of the only toys that Elvis is truly possessive over, he’s not just putting on a tough guy act. He needs this bone before bed or he will have a little fit that sounds like a gremlin is losing their crap. It’s gotten to the point that if we think we can’t find the bone it’s a CODE BACON. If this is called everyone in the room drops everything they are doing and looks for this little bone.

While Elvis is a Chihuahua he falls under the extreme chewer category. It’s like someone shrunk a Husky’s jaw and stuck it on our teeny fuzzy Chihuahua. He rips toys apart no problem, and this can be a problem if we’ve fallen asleep as he will eat any chunks he pulls off a toy.

This bone is an “EXTREME chewing style” bone/toy and it 100% lives up to that title. We’ve had this bone for over a year and there is barely a dent on any side, even though this is chewed on every night.

This bone also has the added bonus of something they call a “Rock & Chew”, which plainly means there is a curve in the bone. This makes it much easier for both puppies to hold onto it when they chew. But, as Elvis has such small paws he doesn’t become as frustrated as he does with some of his other toys when he tries to hold on for an intense chew.

This bone is average looking, it’s white with a deep red textured strip down the middle. It’s cute because it’s so small but it’s not anything to write home about looks wise.

Megan and I both talked about it and we feel like we need to give you fair warning, while we recommend this bone for your pup it’s important that you know that it STINKS. It smells absolutely horrendous. You don’t really get the scent unless you’re super close to the bone which is a plus. But, it can leave the fur around Elvis’ mouth smelly if he’s been chewing for awhile.

The price is wonderful for the quality of the bone, depending on where you purchase or order it from it ranges from $7 - $12. It also comes in three sizes small, giant and wolf.

Overall, we have nothing but great things to say about this bone. And we can imagine that it would be great for a large dog as well if you got the right size. I look forward to trying the wolf size with Tucker at some point.
