Top 10 Wedding Movies

We don’t know about you but the first week of June has us thinking about the stereotypical WEDDING season. Bridezillas, hilarious bachelor parties, cringe worthy comedies and heart-warming tales the “wedding” movie brings more to the table than you think. So, take a break from updating the Pinterest board that we all know you have and take a look at our TOP 10 WEDDING MOVIES!

(10) The Wedding Ringer

Kevin Hart, you’ve done it again. This movie is all about a socially awkward groom who doesn’t have any male friends to be his groomsmen, so what does he do? He hires a best man AND all the groomsmen for his wedding. This side-splitting movie reminds us that money can’t buy you happiness, BUT maybe it can buy you friends. If you’re looking for an epic wedding movie, look no further. This is definitely the movie for you.

(9) Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia, here we go again! This brilliant movie combines a wedding with elaborate dance routines, a crazy love triangle, super epic friendships, and well… Abba’s hit songs. Can you go wrong? We don’t think so, which is why this movie made our list. Trust us, you will be laughing the whole movie, and you’ll have those catchy tunes stuck in your head for weeks. Whether you like it or not. But honestly, it’s so worth it.

(8) The Wedding Date

This movie is a prime example of what a person will do to avoid going to a wedding alone. But, this is 100% on the extreme side. When Kat’s (Debra Messing) younger sister (Amy Adams) is getting married, not only does she have to travel to a different country, not only is she single but the man who basically left her at the alter happens to be the best man. Like any logical person, Kat hires a professional wedding date or in other words a male escort to not only come with her but pretend he’s her long-term boyfriend. This movie is delightful but deals with true family drama that many of us can relate too. It’ll make you laugh and it will make you cringe. The Wedding Date is a movie that isn’t well known but should be.

(7) Wedding Crashers

This hilarious movie follows two best friends and their quest to meet women. And where better to do that than at a wedding. These types of scenarios always get complicated when there are feelings involved, and this movie is no different. If you like awkward sexual interactions, great one-liners and a bit of romance, this movie is the perfect one for you. Wedding Crashers proudly earns the right to be on our list.

(6) The Big Wedding

Big Wedding. Big Drama. I’m not sure if there could be any other outcome other than drama when an EXTREMELY divorced couple is forced to pretend that they are still married. They not only have to pretend for the wedding but also for the days leading up to the ceremony. All so their adoptive son’s biological holy-crap (pun intended) religious mother doesn’t freak out at his wedding. If you think this is the only family drama that ensues, you are very very wrong. This cast is stacked, Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Katherine Heigl, Topher Grace, Amanda Seyfried, Robin Williams, we honestly could go on and on. This movie is the classic feel-good, wedding romantic comedy. Emphasises on the comedy!

(5) My Best Friend’s Wedding

We always want what we can’t have, don’t we? Well, Julianne (Julia Roberts) does. When her best friend, who she had made a marriage pact with as joke announces that he’ll be getting married to 20-year-old named Kimmy (Cameron Diaz) she realizes she must stop at nothing to end this wedding and win back her best friends heart. Can you say bad timing? When she suddenly becomes the maid of honor at the soon to be wedding things take a further turn into the complicated lane. This movie is a classic and if you haven’t seen it drop everything and watch it now. My Best Friend’s Wedding proudly earns it spot as our number 5 wedding movie.

(4) Think Like a Man Too

This hilarious sequel to the first film Think Like a Man, follows two of the main characters as they try and make their way down the aisle to wedded bliss. If they can ONLY get through the bachelor/bachelorette parties. We have to give this sequel props, it didn’t disappoint like most do. The cast chemistry is fantastic, Kevin Hart, Taraji P Henson, Michael Ealy, Gabrielle Union, it honestly couldn’t get better than this.

(3) Bridesmaids

Okay, so this is the ultimate best friend wedding movie, which is why it obviously had to make our list. This sass-filled movie is about a bride and her two best friends basically fighting over her love and affection. This movie incorporates hysterically funny characters, an epic fail of a bachelorette party, a battle for the best friend title, and the classic and now timeless line “help me I’m poor”, which is a recipe for that epic laugh cry that we all know too well.

(2) Runaway Bride

When a journalist calls out a woman for her vast commitment issues and brands her a “runaway bride” in an article, things take an epic twist for this small-town story. Ike (Richard Gere) must travel to the small town to save his journalistic integrity and prove is runaway bride theory. Julia Roberts and Richard Gere are at it again with their classic chemistry. This movie is a wedding classic, and your life isn’t quite yet complete if you haven’t seen this.

(1) The Wedding Planner

When we think about wedding movies, the first one we think of is The Wedding Planner. So, it really isn’t shocking that this is our number one! When a wedding planner unknowingly falls for the groom of her newest client couple she truly must get her shit together if she wants to keep her job and her pride. Romance is at the core of this movie and we couldn’t be happier about it. Jennifer Lopez is at her best in this movie, and we whole heartedly believe this movie is a classic.
