I have a confession to make: another book binge happened. This was an epic one, I don’t think I even want to tell you how many books we walked away with, but let’s just say there was double-bagging and more than one bag involved. It was awesome!

One of the books bought in this binge was School for Psychics by K.C. Archer - I actually had nothing to do with picking this one out but when I went through the bags looking for something to read the other day, I was instantly hooked! Not necessarily by the cover, I don’t feel like it does the story of the book justice to be honest, but by the story itself: a twenty-something year old not only finds herself trying to wrap her brain around the fact that she’s not just good at reading people, she’s actually psychic but also that there’s a government-sanctioned school to train psychics which she’s now a student at. And that’s just the tip of the ice berg! (I was trying to think of a good psychic pun there but oh well!)

I really enjoyed this book! Teddy is both relatable and likeable, despite having some pretty big flaws - but really, that just makes her more relatable. She’s struggling to find herself and make her family proud but keeps landing herself into hot water - and she’s from Vegas so there’s plenty of hot water for her to get into before she ends up at the school, and then she manages to keep getting in hot water there! While navigating her newly recognized powers and essentially adapting to university life, she and her motley crew of friends stumble into a power struggle (Ha! See I knew I could work a psychic pun in somewhere!) and there are some pretty big twists and turns as the plot unfolds, so I’m intrigued to see where they end up as the series continues. The only downside is that since this one was only released in April of this year, there’s going to be a bit of a wait til the next one - help me out by sending “write faster” thoughts to the author! It’s a series about psychics, so it might work, you never know!

I would definitely recommend this book if you’re looking for something with a cool premise, humor, some interesting characters and a bit of a

mystery mixed with some fantasy! If the idea of reading a fantasy series throws you off at all, I will say that it reads more like your classic fiction book with psychic powers thrown in for good measure: the names, places and references are all current, recognizable and real-world, so you’re not dealing with a whole different universe by any means! It also hits the perfect balance between a “light read” without being fluff - I read it pretty much in one sitting, which was echoed by the little blurbs inside the front cover from early readers and reviewers, so it’s not just me being my freakishly fast reading self! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!

Happy reading babes!
